Even if you have just ONE stamp...

If you take part in any the challenges over at Stampotique you may have noticed that to play along you must use STAMPOTIQUE STAMPS ONLY.

I'd like to show you how, with a few changes here and there how easy it is to adapt a stamp to fit the theme.

This week the challenge theme at Stampotique Designers Challenge is Spring has Sprung.

I do have spring type stamps but wanted to see what mileage I could get from a stamp that wouldn't automatically shout 'springtiiiiiiiime'. Just because you feel your Stampotiques don't fit the theme doesn't mean you are unable to take part.

OK, maybe if you only own a 'Chilly' the snowman it may be more of a challenge admittedly haha, but theres nothing like pushing the boundaries of your creativeness to the max!!

I decided to use Daisyhead as I haven't stamped with her before. She's one of the recent stamp releases drawn by Roc Nicholas who has recently joined the team of artists at Stampotique. ...

Yeah ok, she has a big daisy on her head so thats kind of springy I guess, but she needed more flowers ...and I thought she looked a little too thoughtful...so I made her a big Easter bonnet!!

And coloured it in using pastel shades of pencil, cut out the daisy from the stamped image and finished with a button and a handwritten 'spring'.

So now Daisyhead looks REALLY springy and rather glam! Go girl lol!!

Take a sideways look at how you can 'tweak' the images of your stamps (its quite a laugh, you should have a go) and by entering the challenge you are automatically in with a chance to win $30 more rubber in the lucky draw!!!

Brilliant post Jo! Love that lady! I adore Stampotique stamps so much, they are fabulous and fit my eclectic style really well, but, being on an extremely limited craft budget - I buy very few stamps (or anything else for that matter!) Seeing this wise post made me remember that I actually have the gorgeous Stampotique Stamp from my beloved Craft Stamper Magazine - I'm off to hunt it down and 'Springify it!, so that for once, I will have the pleasure of joining in! Anna xx

My sincerest apologies, my stamp turned out to be from the 'Octopode Factory' alas... no entry from me then... I'd got so excited too :(

yea it definitely sucks when you want to join in on a challenge and dont have the right stamps-images-color scheme or whatever. I know the feeling. I myself have been dying since around xmas for some stampotique stamps. well finally got them in the mail about a week ago. I bought a couple so I should be able to twist and turn them all up to fit the theme. Thanks for some ideas. I'm sure lots of us crafter's will use this
