GIVEAWAY!!

After I received such wonderful emails and comments about my most recent work in Craft Stamper (blogged here), Betsy over at Innovative Stamp Creations has kindly offered the Friendship plate that I used in the article to enable me to do a blog giveaway! Thankyou Betsy!

As you can see from the photo it has THE most stunning girl, butterfly and blossom image, along with quotes and sayings that ISC match up so beautifully.

All you have to do to be in with a chance of winning this plate is to leave me a comment, along with your favourite saying, phrase or quote from a poem, as I'm hoping to fill my sketch book I posted previously to this, full of wonderful ideas, and a girl always needs a quote here and there :0) Can be funny or serious...or if that fails and you don't have 'google' , a decent joke will do lol or if the language barrier proves too tricky, just leave a comment :0)

If you already have this plate why not still enter as I'm sure you know someone who would love it as a gift. Good luck! I'll reveal the winner of the plate on SATURDAY 31st Jan(after 3pm uk time)

***NOW CLOSED FOR THE GIVEAWAY*** (you are still more than welcome to add your favourite saying to share with others- thankyou x)

I've gone for a whole poem - one of my favs, Robert Frost ;-)

Great Give Away Jo - just love this plate

Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Those images are great, I would love to win them. I have a book where I note down favourite sayings, and here are a couple:

'Friendship gives voice to your heart and wings to your soul'

'What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it'

Hope you like these, I shall be adding a few new ones to my book now!

Thanks for the giveaway, Alison x

Gorgeous plate!!! I loved everything in the CS recycling issue, very innovative. I was going to suggest a line or two from Jenny Josheph's Warning but I have always loved the entire poem, so here it is:

When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat that doesn't go and doesn't suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals and say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick flowers in other people's gardens
And learn to spit
You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat
And eat three pounds of sausages at a go
Or only eat bread and pickle for a week
And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes.

But now we must have clothes that keep us dry
And pay our rent and not swear in the street
And set a good example for the children.
We must have friends to dinner and read the papers

But maybe I ought to practise a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old and start to wear purple.

love the images on this plate - as ever, you work your magic with them to create stunning artwork.

One of my favourite quotes is "Adopt the pace of nature, her secret is patience" - Ralph Waldo Emerson
and I also like the zen saying:-
"Sitting quietly,
doing nothing,
spring comes and
the grass grows

Hi Jo, Loved the article and the plate of stamps used. Am already squashing loo rolls! I love Elizabeth Barrett Browning's, How do I love thee. Sorry, very romantic but it is nearly Valentine's!

'How do I love thee?
Let me count the way
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height my soul can reach, when feeling out of sight for the ends of being and ideal grace.'

So i finished.......................................... ...
The vodka, the baileys, some rose wine, the ice cream, the crisps and the valium!!!!!!

I too covet this wonderful plate of stamps - at least if I don't win it I know where I can buy it.

I love the 'When I get older I will wear purple' poem it is one of my favourites - as I am now 'old'

This is a quote I like ot live my life by - and applies not just to art work - but to everything. I try to cram as much into every day that I can - you never know how many you might have left! (And I mean that is a positive way not doom and gloom :-)

'It isn’t the hours you put into your work that counts,
It’s the work you put into the hours'

Thank you for the opportunity to enter this Giveaway

What a generous giveaway Jo. I love that ISC plate.
Although I'm not religious I do like this saying:

The song of the birds for mirth,
One is nearer God's heart in a garden
Than anywhere else on earth.

I love the give away. And I love poems and quotes.

My favorite quote is from Martin Luther (do not confuse it with Martin Luther King):

That little bird has
chosen his shelter.
Above it are the stars and
the deep heaven of worlds.
Yet he is rocking himself to sleep
without caring for tomorrow's lodging,
calmly clinging to his little twig,
and leaving God to think for him.

~ Martin Luther

I think this quote is very sweet and inspiring.

Kind regards from the Netherlands,

Odetta

Hey Jo

I'd love to win this set of stamps, but I'd leave you my fave quote anyway....

"The knowledge that time passes makes bad times bearable and good times precious"

Don't know who said it, just think it's fab!

Carol Q said...

I've got this plate but hey... Here's a couple of verses that I like. You used to be able to get them as stamps. Not sure if they're still available

Count your garden by the flowers
Never by the leaves that fall
Count your days by golden hours
Don’t remember clouds at all
Count your night by stars not shadows
Count your years with smiles not tears
Count your blessings not your troubles
Count your age by friends not years.

and this one ... LOL

May the light always find you on a dreary day
When you head home may you find your way,
May you always have courage to take a chance
And never find frogs in your underpants

How lovely of Betsy, it's a beautiful plate! Thanks for the chance to win even if it is almost impossible to pick just one quote as a favourite! I guess it's in my head as I just used the stamp but I do think "There is only one happiness in life: to love and to be loved" is wonderful because it conveys the idea of receiving by giving (it's George Sand in case you like it, too!).

Hi Jo, all of your work is inspiring. I check your blog frequently because I love to see what you've been up to. I also really enjoyed your work in the most recent issue of Stampers Sampler, the cards, tags and bracelet under "Different Point of View". Your work and Audrey Hernandez's work mixed well. Great job! One of my favorite quotes of all time is "The ordinary arts we practice everyday at home are of more importance to the soul than their simplicity might suggest."

Take care!
