I'm cracking up....

The latest challenge on the Stampotique Designers Challenge blog (SDC#25) was set by Monique and incorporates a technique featured over on Technique Junkies.

It's one I've been familiar with for sometime as my friend Carrie ran an article in Stamper's Sampler a few years ago, but being familiar with something certainly didnt mean it was a walk in the park for me. Its one of those techniques that is a 'wait and see'(ie its totally out of your control and you just have to wait and see what you end up with) and have a bit of patience (ahem...thats where I get a bit restless and go wrong lol).
The Technique Junkies tutorial for the technique can be found here and is well worth checking out.

After creating the crackle panel I simply stamped the Stampotique 'Even Silence Speaks' and Crow Line in black StazOn. I was trying to create the feeling of a stormy sky- you know when all goes quiet, just before it all kicks off and throws it down.

And ...BONUS.....there are TWO prizes up for two lucky drawn winners...yep, TWO!!!!!!! And they are both biggies!! So what are you waiting for...hop on over to the Stampotique Challenge blog and see what's what

great background Jo you've worked it well - its a waiting game isn't it. And, if it hadn't been for you I would never have sent that article to Stampers Sampler - its my claim to fame :0))))

Fantastic piece, very stormy looking. I think the crow stamp may have to be bought soon (as if I haven't got enough crows).

Neat card! I like the look of that background. I'm not very good with the "wait and see" techniques either. I'd like to try this crackle technique, though I seem to remember not having the right sort of critical ingredient required the last time I looked into it. Hard to imagine that there is a stamp-related item missing from my stash, but true it is.

Hi Jo, I love your card and the background looks fantastic. Not the easiest of backgrounds to achieve is it?? Think I have finally got a piece to work, thanks to lots of help, encouragement and laughter from Gez! I'hoping to make a Journal page with it as soon as it's dried properly...........but it could be a very small one, as some of it isn't dry and I'm not very patient!! I'll let you know how I get on..........I could be a while!! S xx

This is great Jo and is a technique I keep wanting to try but have never found time yet. From what you and She say, it looks like it could be a while before I get to it, Lol!

It's definitely a very atmospheric piece.
