Its All About the Template...and the Stamps!

The challenge over on the Stampotique Designers Challenge this time is hosted by Valerie, who sets us with the task of using a template...any template.

This could be for a card or 3D item...it could be downloaded, a shop bought template, one from from a magazine- you name it, as long as you can give credit to its origin in your post.

Which brings me to my little Papillon Box which was formed using the Butterfly Box Template by Papermania and decorated using the recently released Papillon, Small Butterfly and Daisy Daisy stamps designed by yours truely for Stampotique Originals.. The reason I enjoyed working with this template is that I got to use the butterfly stamp from Stampotique in a VERY different way by replacing the part of the template shaped like a butterfly with a stamped version, cutting it in half and interlocking the wings to create the whole butterfly and at the same time closing the box.

Simple....a really quick make... but sometimes a respite from all things complicated or detailed can be just the job.

Here is a photo of the box as it appears before the wings are interlocked together.

And here it is closed.

Why not join in with the team this week and find yourself a template to put together. Personally its about as far removed from my usual way of working as I'll ever get, but very relaxing and quite theraputic as all the hard work is done for you.
Also as its a first challenge of the month its the 'any stamps' rule not soley Stampotique so if you are looking to obtain a few Stampotiques another $15 gift certificate is on offer to an entry drawn from the hat (well, a proper draw thing but you know what I mean).
Hope to see you over there. :0)

Another stunner, Jo. I love the butterfly, it looks just as if it is coming out of the box and the colours are beautiful.

The way you have used the butterfly as a closure is pure genius. I haven't got my stamps yet - so can're really do this for the draw - pause for sympathy - but I do love it.

Is the template one that you buy from Papermania? Or is it a downloadableone one?

I think I will have a play anyway with something - hopefully over the weekend - but it will be lacking Stampotique - for now - but just you wait until the order clears customs

I'll really be joining in then!
