Dragonfly Dreams
Crafty Individuals have some new releases, infact some of the images are amongst my favourite of theirs to date.
Here I'm showing a card made for Penny's birthday using a text stamp from the CI261 plate and a gorgeous printed image from the Nature's Beauty book (you HAVE to check this book of images out - its just £3.95 for 162 images). I created a 'sprayed watercolour and inks on a plastic sheet' background to match in with the colours on the dragonfly square so it coordinates well, adding more inks and embossing powder whilst still wet for good measure..
And, as luck would have it, this weeks Mixed Media Monday challenge theme is 'Wings'.

You always create most beautiful backgrounds, love all the splashes and smudges, very arty.
Very beautiful!
Wow stunning card.
Love the splashes. Wonderful work.
This is beautiful, Jo! Lovin' that backgound and the way you've used the embossing powders. The overall effect is so soft and watery--lovely!!
that is so pretty!
Gorgeous card, Jo! Love that stamp--and your background is fabulous!
so delicate, it reminds me of a dragonfly hovering near a pool of water
WOW!!! This is just so stunning! Amazing interpretation of the theme.
Beautiful card, and the background is wonderful - soft and ethereal to match the dragonfly. I've just got some of the new CI stamps, and the Nature's Beauty book. It is absolutely gorgeous, isn't it? I'd say it's their best miniatures book yet.
another beauty!
I love CI's new stamps too - and that book is a must have isn't it - dragonflies are just stunning aren't they - I just adore their almost rainbow coloured irridescent wings in the sunshine.
Lovely card Jo. I love CI stamps and dragonflies are one of my favourite images. I must get that new image book. I love those delicate colours - gorgeous! I am sure your friend will be delighted with her card.
Hope you are fully recovered at home from the freeze!

So totally gorgeous! Just love your composition and the burst of purple in the flower!
I just love the way you do these backgrounds Jo, they look so very artistic. I would love it if one time you explained exactly how you do that. I think I have a pretty good idea but I'm curious if I'm right. I love the Crafty Individuals new stamps and book myself. They have the best stamps I swear. And on top of that they are both two of the nicest people ever. Love this card you made, it's awesome. Happy New Year by the way.
