On the count of three....

Over on Paperbag Studios blog is the August stamp challenge where Design Team member Marilyn Rock has created inspirational piece which illustrates this months theme, 'Mix and Match' which is as follows:

Details: The challenge is to choose two (PBS) stamp sheets and choose two stamps from each set and merge them into one piece that creates a definite message or feel! Upload your submission to your blog or PBS gallery and comment here with a link to your creation!!!

Sooooooooo, I took a stamp I've never used before, The Looking from the Delight plate and the Diamonds stamp from Dreamer plate...


I think on a 'non challenge no requirements to meet' day this could stand as it is quite well I think for a quickmake.

Then I needed to introduce two other stamps from the same plates as previously mentioned and transform and merge together to create a different feel- so I used my favourite girl, 'Be Happy', stamped her onto stampbord, scratched a check pattern into the plain dress and placed her over the top of 'The Looking'.


Her upper body isnt quite sitting where it should, and her hands look a little chunky compared to her face, but its certainly transformed the piece into a much happier one.



Finally, I tweaked and coloured areas, added little diamonds and punched flowers, finishing with the final stamp required to meet the 2 plus 2 line up, which is in my case 'Spiral Bound', again from Dreamer plate. I attempted to change the arm a little to try and merge the two together more.

Looking at the three stages, the initial one is more like a card design and the final stage has more of a journal page look about it.
Not sure about it looking at it here on screen, but in RL its so much more 'alive'and the clarity is better. Might take another photo tomorrow in the daylight.
