Paper Artsy

I've had a different kind of week- apart from it being my sons 18th (very busy) and school holidays (need I say more), I put my back out and couldnt sit stand or lie down for many minutes without being in a massive amount of pain. So as the pain began to ease I was really keen to get something made a) because it destresses my mind when I craft and takes my thoughts elsewhere and b) I'd recently received the new Crowns and Castles Paper Artsy plates and really needed to get cracking with those.

Wednesday Stampers theme this week is Purple and green. Funny enough my entry last week for the challenge were using those colours so I made sure I created something that used very different shades.

The background is built up of several layers of stamping....first using the mini castle arch, then the thin ribbon stamp (from Love and Kisses 1) and ontop of that, my favourite stamp of the range, the very detailed panel from Crowns and Castles 6 and finishing with the birds from C&C 3 and the phrase from plate 8.

PHEW!!

Kind of got a bit carried away with all the different plates, but I was trying to create a background which reflected the printed textiles I used to do way waay back.

Sorry to hear re the back pain Jo, wow 18 already, hope he enjoyed his day. The multi-layered stamping to the background is very effective, I too thought it was design paper, creates an almost 3d backdrop for those adorable birds though, colour combo I like too. Take Care :)

You certainly achieved what you set out to do - and some. It really does look like a printed textile.

I hope you do an article in The Craft Stamper on how to achieve this.

I did have a go at your book page - but didn't think it was good enough to put on my blog - LOL - I will try another one.

First, I hope your back is feeling better. I have so much empathy for you. I love the layers. I had to click on the pic so I could get a closer look. The detail is wonderful and I've never thought about layering that way with stamps. What a wounderful way to make some background paper!
