With his own wings...

Well try as I might, I can't resist the urge to make bits and pieces as I'm packing more of my art materials away for the big move which is almost upon us. It doesnt help that I keep ordering new stamps either that I just HAVE to test out lol...you know how it goes.

I was packing away some 12x12's this morning and rediscovered my Basic Grey Sublime papers. LOVE the Alpha Berry and so decided to use the colours and masked idea of the overall look as a starting point to create a tag and take influence from the distressed worn feel it has.. (I placed the tag ontop of the Alpha Berry so you can see its look in the photo above).

Seeing as this weeks theme for Created By Hand is Crows and the Crazy Amigos theme is flowers, I went with the bird stamps and I masked background areas with flower shapes. I also inked through sequin waste, used sprays and roughed up areas and edges. The bit I would like to change is the colour of the saying. I wanted gold ep, but have already packed it away so only had turquoise left out. The saying says 'No bird soars too high if he soars with his own wings'- love that saying.
This is now is my contribution towards this months Art Raffle where all the artwork will be posted onto one winner who receives all the contributions.

I have a couple of nominations for awards I still need to list and a couple of thankyous...will do those next post, promise.

Vickie- this saying on the tag would have been a great for your list you were compiling.

AND DON'T FORGET!! Add your name to the post below this one for a chance to win an Art Journey plate!

Jo, it's lovely, it definitely does justice to the beautiful paper which inspired it :D I hope your move goes well, and that you keep managing to find time to create when you can- sounds like you need an emergency stash box for when you really have to stamp!

this is lovely - makes me want to rifle through my paper stash for inspiration :)

I think the turquoise EP works quite well - it picks up the similar colour in the flower - made me chuckle that you had packed away gold but kept out turquoise :)

I just love the Basic Grey Sublime line too! What a gorgeous tag, the raven sillouette is stunning on that paper! Hey, for those Le Plume pens, I see there are 3 different kinds, primary, pastel and victorian, what would you suggest I try first? Hoping to avoid another mermaid mishap! haha
