Kicking off, suprisingly, with an arch.

First post of the year. Happy New Year all...

Have been really busy with real life and looking forward to mid week next week when both the boys are back at school and we can get into some routine, so blog posts have been few. Have been creating behind the scenes but cant show those just yet, so I thought I'd see what this weeks Wednesday Stamper was.

Arches arent usually my thing as I feel recently they've been a little over worked since being first highlighted by the very inspirational mixed media artist Beryl Taylor a couple of years ago(which can be seen on the cover of Cloth Paper Scissors (Winter 2005) and in her book 'Mixed Media Explorations', but I thought I'd give the challenge a go.

I used a combination of background stamps, die cuts, spray inks and ribbon. The colour is a little 'out'- its a dark day and avoiding flash glare as well as keeping the colour true is a challenge in its self lol

Thanks for dropping by.

  27. I really love your work. I got your link though Vickie at Whispers of Inspiration. She is my friend and is doing a swap for Valentines day. I have been swayed into participating and I am really getting excited about it. Your type of Mixed media work is lovely and is my taste. I hope to get more involved in this. (I have never done this before.)

How do you and Vickie make the Arch? And make so glossy and smooth looking after putting your image on.

Feel free to email me back. I would love for you to come and visit me too.
